Lonesome Road is a competently written mystery. The country house is classic. The alarms come fast, one after another. I read this book in a day, which shows how well it held my interest. Some of the characters are a bit predictable (the anxious mother, her selfish offspring, the weepy cousin, the bluff American neighbor), but they are convincing/5().
